DRIFT
This mixed media ceramic, drift wood and reclaimed metal wall art makes an rustic art statement. The ceramic elements are like bleached coral and skeletal seaweed. 13 inches high.
The ceramic shapes are based on the skeletal remnants of seaweed and coral. They are bound in hand woven bronze wire in the form of a fish net. The elegantly tapering driftwood is from my local beach near Byron Bay. The metal is part of a corragated iron roof from an old, abandoned farmhouse in South Australia. The various textures and shapes of this set of handmade and found object collection gives interest and layering to an interior. The four parts of the wall sculpture are attached with copper wire to a rustic plywood mount. The low relief wall hanging form sits flush against the wall, making this sculpture ideal to transform a living room, hallway or office space into your own contemporary art gallery.
