BUTTERFLY LOVERS
This mixed media wall sculpture has two naked people embraced as conjoined twins. The ceramic figurines have an antique finish with butterfly decal decoration and are placed in a found wooden teak bowl. 10 inches high.
I often use elements of the everyday, discarded and found objects. I manipulate then reassemble them into a new context. The old and the familiar become new sculptural artifacts. The conjoined lovers are placed in a repurposed teak twin leaf shaped vessel.
The concept, form and shape of this sculpture will be a talking point with friends. The wall hanging sculpture sits flush against the wall, making this sculpture safe to transform a living room or bedroom into your own contemporary boho art gallery.
