INGMAR
Ingmar is a a sculptural wall face with a white, gray and rust-like surface. The 3D ceramic sculpture was designed to look like an ageing metal piece of farm equipment. The painterly art depicts a face encrusted in old paint and rust. It has the words HONESTY IN THE HOUR OF THE WOLF stamped over the forehead and the silhouette of a howling wolf.

The ceramic art tile surface has subtle color changes with a palimpsest of glazes, clay slip brushwork and iron oxides. The ceramic surface was hand modelled and carved to make small rivets, bolts and cover plates. The words "HONESTY IN THE HOUR OF THE WOLF" refers to the movie by Ingmar Bergman. The Nordic film explores the nightmarish thoughts and anguish of the insomniac in the hours between midnight and dawn. The film questions the relevancy of artistic practice within society. It is also my aphorism for standing up and speaking truth to power.
