ART DECO FORM
This luxe style, gilded ceramic oval wall sculpture can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The streamlined sculptural ceramic surface has an antique Dutch gold finish. The surface texture is an Art Deco pattern made with carved shapes and organic curved lines. 17.5 inches long.
I designed and made this using a number of influences. The convex shape is based on stylized Viking shields and flattened igloo cocoon forms. The surface pattern is related to leaves and shapes found in nature. The general design is like the Modernist sculptures of Brancusi.
