THE EMPEROR
The Emperor is a male nude statue hand modelled then joined onto a thrown ceramic mound. The ceramic sculpture is based on the story of 'The Emperor's New Clothes' by Danish author, Hans Christian Anderson. 9" high.
He has a celadon green and red glazed torso with a lichen green base. The Emperor is mounted on a round, antique white timber plinth which is removable. The slender figurine will be a talking point in your living space. The classic story of the naked Emperor refers to the king purchasing a suit which is invisible. The courtiers find themselves in the situation where no one can see the clothing but everyone agrees it is superb because they think everyone else can see it. The Emperor can stand on a bookshelf or coffee table.
