GIZELLA
Gizella is a red haired female art doll. Channelling a bohemian lifestyle, she is a quirky and original design. Her beige linen look body has ornate embroidery in a contemporary take on Hungarian ornament. Gizella is a quirky and stylish artdoll ready for your bedroom and is truly OOAK. 10 inches high.
She has been hand embroidered in black, red and green cotton on a beige linen look fabric. The colours represent strength, faithfulness and hope. She has fine green underwear and blanket stitched hems. Her hair is a wild curly copper orange color. Her head and limbs are hand modelled ceramic and fired to 1100 degrees C. It took me around 80 hours to make her.
When I designed her embroidery pattern, I was thinking of the Hungarian coat of arms with the holy crown of St Stephen on top. The embroidery on her back is a nod to the szur coats worn by Hungarian shepherds. Gizella looks cute standing on books or she can hang on your wall to free up shelf space. She has a small loop on her upper back to allow hanging. She is 10 inches/ 28 cm tall and has an eye-catching presence.
