CORAL GARDEN
Coral Garden is an intricate and unique five part sculpture. Suitable for your coffee table, bookshelf or tabletop. The organic shaped sculptures have an antique white ceramic surface with pops of glossy turquoise blue glaze. Each shape is atop a timber shaft and mounted on a waxed timber plinth made from Australian eucalyptus hardwood. 13 inches high.
The five shapes include a tubular and tulip flower, eyes, a squared-off pagoda form and part of a face. Some shapes have barnacles modelled onto the surface. The words "circle the empty square" are embossed on the rear of the face. The words are a poetic flipping of the saying "square the circle". The circle is a universal symbol representing the sacred earth, wholeness, completion and the female. The square symbolizes the physical world and maleness. What is considered impossible becomes possible.
