EQUUS
Equus is a mobile hanging sculpture handmade with a turquoise blue, red, brass and tan horse's head; driftwood beads; handmade ceramic disc and brass bridle accent. I collected the driftwood from our local Lighthouse Beach after a storm. The mobile is ideal to hang on a narrow wall or hallway space. Perfect for an eclectic art collector looking for something unique. 14 inches high.
This mobile is an ideal accent for a bohemian look. Equus has a mixed glossy and matte pelt. The horse's neck is a lovely mix of blue and terracotta glaze. The mobile is also decorated with a blue colored bi disc, antique silver and red ornaments, and a variety of wood and glass beads and is finished with a loop of strong nylon line for hanging. I made the blue ceramic disc like Chinese coins and bi discs which are an auspicious form in their culture.
I spent two months in China in Jingdezhen where they have produced ceramics for over a 1000 years. Horses are a powerful element in providing good feng shui in a home. They represent a free spirit and energy. Hang on a picture hook or nail over your work desk and escape the everyday grind.
