STUNNING
I made this ceramic gold fish sculpture called Stunning. The goldfish looks great either lying horizontally or hanging on the wall. Give to a favorite Piscean on their birthday. 12 inches long.
I cast a real mullet to make the plaster mold of a fish. I had to work quickly before it thawed out. The definition on the fish surface even shows the scales. I hand stamped the lettering 'STUNNED' after press molding the clay. The fish was then covered with Dutch gold leaf, and coated with shellac and lacquer. It's suitable for pride of place on your mantelpiece or bookshelf. Or hang over your desk as a reminder of fishing holidays.
