ANCIENT MARINER
I hand dyed and sewed this mixed media art work with imagery of a sailor with tattoos over a shibori pattern. A dark boho look piece of wall art ready to add to your individual decor style. 16" high.
I selected some naturally dyed raw silk with the vestiges of plant materials used still visible. I then sewed a ombre style shibori pattern in dark red cotton thread. I used a black thread to embroider a sailor with tattoos over the top of the Japanese style pattern. I used a red cotton garbedine on the borders and stretched it over a timber frame.
