BONOBO
I drew this mixed media art work with imagery of a bonobo ape and a Neanderthal skeleton. I was exploring the idea of evolution in a representational way rather than through theoretical language. 12" high.
I drew Bonobo during an artist in residence program on the bicentennial celebration of Darwin's birth year. Bonobos are the closest ape species to humans. I selected archival, acid free Arches paper as the background. I then hand drew the bonobo in orange pencil and the skeleton in black pen and graphite.
A quirky and unique artwork!
