EMBOSSED
This pair of white and pale terracotta wall plaques have an abstract textural look. The wall hanging sculptures have an embossed pattern of spots, stripes and squiggles. The subtle effect of each ceramic art tile surface is perfect to add textural layering to a bohemian living space. The ideal girlfriend gift with its bold graphic nature yet classic feel. I used found objects from my kitchen and studio to make the texture. The spots are from a colander. The swirling pattern is from a lino cut. The piece was handmade by coating orange terracotta clay with a white porcelain slip then rubbing back to give soft peach highlights.
